Arthur Villhard Jr.'s funeral details:

Visitation: Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Kassly Mortuary Fairview Heights, IL.

Fire Department bell service at 12:00pm, followed by his funeral service beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorials are preferred to Brett's First Responders, 517 South Illinois St., Belleville, IL

Today, we said goodbye to Arthur Villhard Jr., a man whose legacy will live on for generations.

Although he had been retired from the fire service for several years, his impact never retired. Through his many years of dedicated service, he helped shape the Midway Fire Protection District and touched the lives of countless firefighters and community members.

One of the things he'll always be remembered for is starting the Midway Fire Protection District Halloween event, a tradition that has brought smiles to so many families over the years. I was truly honored to have taken over that tradition when he retired and was no longer able to.

Thank you for your years of service, your leadership, and your commitment to this community. You've answered your last alarm, but your legacy will continue in every firefighter you influenced and every child who smiles at the Halloween event you started.

Rest easy, brother. We'll take it from here.
