Ready, set, poppy! 🏁 This year for National Poppy Day®, the American Legion Auxiliary is going above and beyond to engage with local communities and bring awareness to the significance and meaning of the poppy by launching a virtual 5K in May. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️ Along with other National Poppy Day activities organized by ALA units and departments, this national event aims to bring more awareness and recognition of the poppy’s significance. 🇺🇸

March 4th recognizes National Hug a G.I. Day. Gather around your servicemen and women to give them a hug. It’s simply a way to show your support. With either a pat on the back or a hearty handshake , be sure to give both past and present G.I.s your appreciation. While G.I.s refer to Army personnel, the day encompasses all those who have served in the military. So, hug those jarheads, Wingnuts, Squids, and Coasties too! 🤗❤️

There will be a Quilts of Valor ceremony on Sunday, 28 September from 2 to 4 pm at Post 18. Awards program begins at 3pm. Come show your support to our veterans.

Auxiliary and community members, just a heads up that we will be holding a CPR and AED Training class on Thursday August 21st, and Thursday August 28th at the Post, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for Legion members only, from all 4 groups. Please come and learn how to help save a life with our newly installed equipment from Morgan Morris!
