What an amazing group of guys who continue to put in the work and make a real difference on Weiss Lake.
We still have a couple of areas we need to concentrate on, but when you look at what has been accomplished, it’s pretty incredible. 94 locations just this summer.
That’s 94 more places providing cover for young fish and giving them a better chance to survive predation from birds and other predators. And this is something that will benefit the lake for years to come.
The sonar picture shows a large metal spool. It represents the beginning of something we hope will become much bigger, a series of fishing areas marked with visible fish-attractor buoys, so you won’t need expensive electronics to find them.
We sometimes forget that not everyone has a boat loaded with thousands of dollars worth of sonar.
Fishing shouldn’t require it.
Our goal is to make taking your family fishing easier, more affordable, and more enjoyable. We want to see the day when bridges and popular bank-fishing areas have fish attractors nearby. When every marina and public boat ramp has a fishing area close with a visible marker that you can get to easily with any size boat or kayak etc.
Imagine being able to pull up with your kids, look for a marker, drop a line and have a legitimate opportunity to catch fish without having to own a $10,000 electronics package.
That’s the kind of lake we want to help build.
Not just a lake that produces big fish, but a lake that creates memories.
Because years from now, our kids probably won’t remember what electronics we had in the boat.
They’ll remember sitting beside us with a fishing pole in their hand, waiting for that bobber to go under.
It’s time to make fishing fun for everyone again.
And that’s exactly what we’re working toward.
