We have a massive opportunity today to shape the path forward for our union, our families, and our workplace. We are electing the leaders who will represent our strength and protect our rights. Every single vote counts. Letโ€™s pack the room and show everyone what AFSCME Local 401 solidarity looks like!

Yesterday, January 30, 2026, AFSCME Local 401 members braved the freezing cold for a powerful informational picket outside Warren G. Murray Developmental Center to declare: we have voted NO CONFIDENCE in Facility Director Robert Mason, Assistant Facility Director Sara Myers, and Assistant Facility Director Kayla Dunahee. After months of unresolved staffing shortages, safety concerns, poor decisions, and a toxic environment crushing morale and care quality, meetings with the Department of Human Services yielded no real change. Current leadership is failing our members and-most importantly-the vulnerable individuals we serve. Huge turnout from Local 401, plus strong support from media outlets and the Murray Parents Association, showed our shared fight for safe, adequately staffed care. A huge thank you to everyone who showed up, donated supplies, helped plan, or was involved in any way-your solidarity made this powerful! We need new leadership now-one that prioritizes safety, respect, and the people first. Photos below. Solidarity! ๐Ÿ’ช
