Kim Harvey, with Adult Protective Services, stopped at the Sheriff's Office with a huge box of cookies to bring awareness to Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and the month of June, which is Elder Abuse Awareness Month.

Marla has been an amazing leader! It has been a privilege to work with you! All of us at Midland wish you well in this new chapter!

After 15 incredible years with AgeGuide, our CEO, Marla Fronczak, has announced her retirement effective December 2026.

Since joining AgeGuide in 2010, Marla has helped lead the organization through tremendous growth, innovation, and impact, strengthening services for older adults, caregivers, veterans, and communities across our region.

From expanding programs and partnerships to advancing dementia-friendly initiatives and launching the Aging Summit, her leadership has helped shape a stronger future for aging services.

While this marks the beginning of a new chapter, AgeGuide’s mission remains unchanged. Our dedicated staff, Board of Directors, Advisory Council, and community partners will continue working together to ensure older adults can live with dignity, independence, and connection.

Please join us in thanking Marla for her years of service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the aging network. We look forward to celebrating her legacy and continuing our important work together in the months ahead.

Area 09 APS had the quarterly meeting today the Kaskaskia College Extension in Salem. Thanks to Ann Yaunches with SICC for the presentation, Jill Musso from IDOA for updates. and Jonathan Akers and Kim Harvey from SWAN for your presentation as well. Everyone wore purple to celebrate World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in June 15th. It was a very good meeting!

Today Midland Area Agency on Aging staff met for their monthly staff meeting. Several upcoming events were discussed and planned so be looking gor notices. We also celebrated Nancy Hinton Birthday which was May 30th.
