Day 2 of 2026 Nike Outdoor Nationals
It was an incredible experience to compete at one of the most iconic track and field venues in the world; Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
This is an opportunity that few athletes ever get to experience and compete against the best in the nation.
Day 2
Ethan Ross ran in the 200m champions division and clocked a time of 21.80 which put him 39th out of 68. He is the CHS record holder at 21.41 and 2026 bronze state medalist.
Ethan also threw the javelin and had 3 respectible throws; 54.32, 51.01, & 53.05. This put him finishing 22nd of 44.
The 4x400m relay team finished out the day with a time of 3:31.57 which put them 26th of 30. This team is the CHS record holder at 3:25.93 and 2026 state medalist. Peyson Bryson, Cody Prater, Wesley Robertson, & Ethan Ross.
All 6 of these athletes represented Centralia well this past weekend, on and off of the field. We want to extend a big thank you to the community and coaches that have supported these athletes and the CHS track and field program.

It is the start of day 2 here in Eugene, Oregon at NON. It is supposed to be another beautiful day of sunshine and near 80°. 
Ethan runs the 200m prelims at 10:37, javelin at 1:30, and the boys run in the 4x400m relay at 7:30.

The first day is in the books for the Panthers at Nike Outdoor Nationals.
Ethan ran a 48.02 400m in the championship division and came in 21st out of 63. Ethan is the CHS record holder at 47.45 and 2026 bronze state medalist.
The boys 4x800m relay had a time of 8:25.10. Wesley, Jensen, Peyson, & Nolan. The boys are the CHS record holder at 8:04.84 and 2026 state medalist.
It was a beautiful day at the track with 75 degrees and sun.
We are looking forward to 3 more events tomorrow; Ethan in the 200m and javelin, and the 4x400m relay. Peyson, Wesley, Cody, Ethan

The Centralia Panthers made it to Hayward Field and will compete in 2 events today and 3 events tomorrow.
Ethan Ross will run the 400m at 1:54pm and the 4x800m relay (Peyson, Wesley, Jensen, & Nolan) will run at 4:13pm PST time (2 hours behind MO).

Monday evening was the spring sports program and there was much to celebrate across all spring sports.
For the track and field teams, the girls and boys were both conference champions, district champions, and the boys tied for 3rd at state and the girls took 8th at state.
There were several new school records set as well.
If was another fun and successful season and we want to thank all the athletes for their hard work and dedication. Thank you to a great senior class that has made a big impact on this program for the past 4 years.
We also want to thank the coaches for their leadership and guidance and especially Coach Sontheimer as he retires as T&F head coach.
