Our support includes providing food/hydration to firefighters during fires and helping families displaced by a fire.

It’s time for another during Fire Prevention Month!

This Tuesday we are talking about COOKING SAFETY 👨‍🍳

🫕 NEVER leave food on the stove or in the oven that is actively cooking. Set a timer ⏲️ as a reminder!

🧻 KEEP flammable items such as dish towels, paper towels, and pot holders away from burners!

🍳 TURN handles towards the back of the stove so that children cannot grab them!

💦 NEVER use water on a grease fire! Instead, turn off the heat, cover the pan with a metal lid OR use baking soda or a fire 🧯extinguisher!

Let’s Talk About FIRE HYDRANTS!

DID YOU KNOW it’s just as important to keep fire hydrants clear in the summer ☀️ months as it is during the winter ❄️ months?

If you have a fire hydrant in your yard or near your property, help us keep it clear and accessible! If a hydrant is hidden or blocked, it can cause a delay of fire 🔥 suppression efforts and impact emergency operations!

OCTOBER is Fire Prevention Month and every Tuesday of this month is

This Tuesday we are talking about SMOKE ALARMS ⏰and DETECTORS 💨

🔥 INSTALL ALARMS EVERYWHERE: Smoke alarms should be on every level of your 🏠, in each bedroom, and on the outside of sleeping areas.

🔥 TEST ALARMS REGULARLY: Press the test button on every alarm in your 🏠 once a month to make sure they are still working.

🔥 REPLACE BATTERIES: If your smoke alarms operate by batteries, replace the batteries at least once per year.

🔥 REPLACE SMOKE ALARMS: If you have any smoke alarms that are older than 10 years, replace them!

TODAY, September 28th, is Test Your Smoke Alarm Day! 🔥
Take a few minutes today to test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they’re working.

✅ TEST ALARMS: Press the test button on all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

✅ CHECK BATTERIES: Replace dead or dying batteries.

✅ CHECK AGE: Replace any smoke or carbon monoxide detectors that are older than 10 years.

✅ PRACTICE ESCAPE: When testing alarms, plan a quick fire escape drill.

REMEMBER; a working smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector provides the early warning that you need to escape safely in the event of an emergency!
