Troop 1, Central Point

Troop 1, Central Point Boy Scouts Troop 1, Central Point, Oregon How About an Adventure? Sound fun?

Boy Scouts prove themselves in an environment that challenges their courage and tests their nerve. After they've been given the proper guidance from those with experience and know-how, they take their own lead, going places they've never gone, seeing things they've never seen, and diving into the rugged world of outdoor adventure, relying on teamwork and character to accomplish what everyone else

thinks is impossible. If you're a boy age 11, or at least 10 and have completed the fifth grade, or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, to 17 years old, the time for a real adventure is now.

Today was a good day for a hike. Our destination was Long Lake hiking on the Badger Lake trail. Weston made us breakfast, lunch and a desert to satisfy some cooking merit badge requirements. The mountain cheese raman was excellent.

Another Eagle Scout Project Completed! Gannon North had a goal to help the Woodruff Play Area by planning and building a kiosk/information shelter that would be used by OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) riders. This shelter has a bench for sitting and an information board. The shelter overlooks the play area and is located within the Prospect OHV Trail System. Great job Gannon for planning and completing this task on your trail to Eagle.

Troop 1 Scouts love to duch oven! That’s right! About every 3 months these Scouts lay out a nice spread at our troop meeting. What a great meeting!
The steel plate the Scouts are cooking on was mostly welded together by the Scouts while working on the welding merit badge. Pretty cool! 😎

Central Point Troop 1 Boy Scouts
are having their annual Christmas tree recycling fundraiser program. We will be canvassing the community of Central Point collecting Christmas trees at 9 AM Saturday, December 30, 2023. Unfortunately, we cannot accept flock trees. Please have your tree at the sidewalk and a Scout will come to your door for a donation. There’s other ways to donate electronically. Check out this flyer for additional information on donations. If you did not receive a flyer, please email us or leave us a message on our Facebook messenger with your address and a scout will come collect your tree. We also accept tree drop off at the empty lot next to the fire station at Scenic Middle School. We will be there from 9am until 2pm. All donations received go directly to support scouting activities!
Thank you for supporting your local Boy Scout Troop!
