Quilts 4 Kidz Quilts 4 Kidz, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and loved.

Our community-based outreach provides handmade comfort quilts to children facing life-threatening illnesses, abuse, neglect, trauma, & hardship throughout our local community. With so many of our children feeling alone, unloved, insignificant & hopeless I believe unless we as a community seek ways to change this we will continue to see more crimes, gangs, abuse and worse of all more victims amongst our children. I believe with the community's efforts Quilts4Kidz can provide a quilt for warmth, a sense of worth and most of all the feeling & belief that they are important and that they too can make a difference in our community.

Our workshop is finished, and my heart is full! 💛

I’m so grateful for everyone’s participation, support, fellowship, and the amazing food we shared. We got so much done: one more quilt was bound, and two more quilt tops were completed! The best part was spending the day together and sharing our love of quilting.

A heartfelt thank-you to Heather, Lia, Sue D., Sue W., Barbara, Eve, BJ, and Marley. You made this day special! 🧵🪡

We’re two-thirds of the way through our workshop, and the sewing machines are humming! 🧵❤️

So far, we’ve finished binding three quilts, completed two quilt tops, and cut the pieces for a Christmas tree skirt for Quilts 4 Kidz’ Festival of Trees entry. What a wonderful day of creativity, teamwork, and quilts coming together for children in our community!

The night before, and the excitement is building! ❤️

One of our wonderful volunteers came in late last night and stayed to help me set up the display, tables, chairs, and all the little things that make today possible. From 9:30 to 10:30, she gave her time and heart to Quilts 4 Kidz—and I’m so grateful.

Hearts of inspiration. Angels among us. ✨

🎉 COUNT UP — WE'RE AT 80 COMPLETED QUILTS! 🎉

It's been a hot minute since we've shared an update on our journey toward 500 quilts... but don't let our silence fool you! Behind the scenes, our volunteers and quilters have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! 🧵❤️

💕 Here's where we are TODAY!

🧡 80 COMPLETED QUILTS!

🪡 6 quilts ready for their final stage — binding!

💜 3 quilts with volunteers working their binding magic.

🧵 4 quilts in the queue for longarm quilting.

💛 4 quilts with volunteer longarm quilters.

And that's just the beginning of the story...

❤️ BEHIND THESE CABINET DOORS...

HUNDREDS of lovingly created quilt tops are waiting for their turn!

Each represents hours of cutting, sewing, creativity, and generosity from quilters who believe every child deserves to feel loved.

But a quilt top is only part of the journey. Each still needs backing, batting, longarm quilting, and binding before becoming a finished quilt ready to wrap a Southern Oregon child in comfort, love & hope.

The love is already stitched into these quilt tops. Now we need helping hands to finish the hugs! ❤️

✨ AND THE EXCITEMENT CONTINUES TOMORROW!

At Saturday's Quilting 4 Kidz Sewcial — our Panel Workshop — volunteers will be putting finishing touches on quilts through binding, while other helping hands bring beautiful quilt panels one step closer to becoming quilts for children in our community.

🧡 THIS IS THE HEART OF QUILTS 4 KIDZ!

One person creates a quilt top. Another prepares the backing. Someone adds the longarm quilting. Another finishes the binding.

Different hands. Different talents. One shared HEART.

Just look at this beauty! 🧵✨

Our amazing quilter Cheryl L. has worked her magic once again, creating this gorgeous scrappy quilt top filled with beautiful shades of purple and a wonderful assortment of fabrics!

And a HUGE thank-you to Sue W., our volunteer longarm quilter, who has added her beautiful quilting talents to bring this quilt one step closer to wrapping a Southern Oregon child in comfort, love & hope. 💕

This is what makes Quilts 4 Kidz so special. One volunteer creates, another adds their talents, and together they turn fabric and thread into something filled with LOVE!

😇 Angels Amongst Us — Tom at Northbound Electric

Tonight, we have HEAT in the Quilts 4 Kidz shop—and Tom is the angel behind it! ❤️

When our pellet stove stopped feeding pellets, Tom took it apart and researched the problem, discovering a sheared auger. We ordered the replacement, and tonight he returned to finish the repair. He had to grind out the damaged auger before installing the new one and testing the stove.

Just in time! With temperatures in the mid-20s this morning, our quilting machines—and the hands creating those quilts—need a consistently warmer room.

After all that work and a late-night repair, Tom refused payment. He paid his amazing talents forward, helping us keep making quilts for children who need comfort, love, and hope.

One more business helping wrap children in quilts, in the best way he knows how.

Thank you, Tom and Northbound Electric, for bringing warmth to our shop and kindness to our mission. 🧡

Countdown is on — our Panel Workshop is next Saturday! ❤️🧵

Today I finished matching fabrics for a suitcase full of pillowcase kits that will be ready for the workshop.

We’ll be using the fun “burrito” pillowcase method, and I’m especially excited because this workshop will help us test a new idea for Quilts 4 Kidz — providing a coordinating pillowcase with each quilt.

What a special way to package a quilt for a child, while adding one more piece of comfort they can call their own.

I can’t wait to see these fabric combinations come together next Saturday!

Kathy G. created this beautiful quilt from start to finish — piecing the top, quilting it, binding it, and then donating the completed quilt to Quilts 4 Kidz.

Every square is a little different, and together they make something joyful and completely unique — just like the children these quilts are made for. ❤️
