Big thank you to everyone that made it to the show yesterday. The stress piles on getting ready to put on a show. But seeing our exhibitors old and new, making new friends makes it all worth it. We ended up being short on Alpine Jrs as some goats just didn't want to come to the show. A large part of our valley is on fire and some of these goats have been living at other farms as they can't return home yet. For me I have an extra 60 goats at my house right now putting us at about 100 to feed and care for. I feel blessed that I have been able to give some of these animals a safe place to be and help their owner focus on keeping themselves and their homes safe. It was hot yesterday but we did have a little breeze most of the day. And the smoke wasn't too bad. This show in is honor of Lelia Berry, who I never had the pleasure of meeting, she was a member of our club in her later years. I wish I had had the chance to know her. Mark Baden did a great post on her after the show. I hope people will take the time and read it. And thank you Mark for all you have also done for ADGA. Thank you to our judges Karen Smith, Jay Rudolph and Anna LaBarbera for putting up with our dirty barn. Karen had a great suggestion to watering down good the night before, going to try and remember that for next time. Also thank you to all our show sponsors. These show can not happen without your help. This show will not happen next year, as Nationals will be so close to us, making it hard to get enough entries. But hope to see everyone back in 2028.
