🍎 OCTOBER IS KINDERGARTEN TEACHER APPRECIATION MONTH!

We’re kicking off a new Jewett PTO tradition: each month, we’ll spotlight a different grade level and celebrate the teachers who make Jewett such a special place.

Meet our Kindergarten teachers

Mrs. Monica Andre

🌴 Happy anywhere there’s a warm beach
🏃‍♀️ Loves to race people and is surprisingly good at jump rope
✈️ Has visited 6 countries
🍕 Loves pizza
🎥 If she weren’t teaching, she’d love to be a travel vlogger

Mrs. Rosalinda Durán
📚 9 years teaching at Jewett
🏃‍♀️ Has completed 10+ half marathons and 2 full marathons
🍝 Loves Thai and Italian food
👩‍🍳 Surprisingly good at cooking
🧠 Dreams of someday becoming a psychologist
❤️ Loves seeing her students learn, grow, and feel proud of themselves

Mrs. Lori Leedy
📚 21 years teaching, including 9 at Jewett
🐣 Loves teaching the life cycle of chickens — including incubating eggs and hatching chicks!
💃 Teaches dance and yoga before school
🎳 Surprisingly good at bowling
🌎 Loves traveling, especially anywhere Spanish-speaking
❤️ Loves her students’ hilarious personalities — and ALL the hugs

Mrs. Molly Walker
📚 20 years teaching
📖 Loves teaching kids to read
🏈 Huge Ohio State football fan — Go Buckeyes!
🐕 Mom to three kids and two Golden Retrievers
🤸‍♀️ Competitively jump-roped for 11 years
❤️ Became a teacher because she wanted to make kindergarten a better experience for other kids

Now we’d love to hear from YOU!
Whether your child is currently in kindergarten or moved on years ago, we’d love to collect your favorite memories, funny stories, words of appreciation, or little things your child loved about their kindergarten teacher.

A few sentences is perfect. No need to write anything fancy — just tell us what you remember and appreciate.

We’ll compile your responses and share them with our Kindergarten team as a special reminder of the impact they have made on our students and families.

Thank you to our incredible Kindergarten team for giving our littlest Jaguars such a wonderful start to their school journey. ❤️

Happy October, Kindergarten teachers!

🐾 GET READY, JAGUARS!
We’re excited for this year’s Jewett Elementary Jog-a-Thon on Friday, October 16! This is the PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and the money raised comes right back to our students, helping to fund field trips, classroom materials, playground equipment, educational programs, technology, and other activities and resources that make Jewett special.

🎉 WE HAVE SOME EXCITING CHANGES THIS YEAR! We’ve revamped our prize program so that MORE Jaguars have something fun to work toward!
👕 Every student who participates will receive a Jog-a-Thon T-shirt!
🏆 Students can earn prizes based on the fundraising level they reach.
⭐ Our top fundraiser will get to be Principal for the Day!

💻 FUNDRAISING WILL BE EASY WITH 99PLEDGES!
Each student will have their own fundraising page that families share with friends and family by text, email, or social media. Online donations can be made directly through the student’s page, and cash and check donations will still be accepted. To personalize your 99pledges page, please email [email protected] with your child's name and teacher.

❤️ Remember, EVERY pledge counts! Whether it’s $5, $10, or $20, those donations add up when our Jaguar community works together.
We can’t wait for another fun and successful Jog-a-Thon!

🔗 Find your Jaguar’s fundraising page here:
https://app.99pledges.com/fund/JewettJogathon26
Phyiscal pledge envelopes will go home with students on Monday September 28th. Meanwhile, students can start raising funds over the weekend with the 99pledges link above!

We had so much fun celebrating the teachers at Jewett Elementary School this past week! They do so much every single day to help our kiddos thrive.
