This week it was a pleasure to speak in support of HB1411. This bill gives parents the right to OPT-IN instead of opting out of surveys, analysis, evaluations, family life curriculum, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
Parents need to be involved & informed. By asking for permission we are able to join the conversation on these topics & choose what is best for OUR children.
Rep. Jones, the rioter & activist attempted to discredit me as a “book banner” but he only made a fool of himself by disrespecting Chairman White. Seeing as he is not a parent himself, I do not expect him to grasp the concept behind protecting your children from the material you do not deem appropriate.
Let’s be clear, this is not an issue of books, and the bill has nothing to do with books, this is an issue of inclusion of parents.
