Mr. Potato Head lives on in Belper, England! He has had quite a journey since his largest portrayal in the early 2000's as William Blackstone was commissioned by the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council as part of a statewide tourism campaign in Rhode Island. Following the campaign, the Tourism Council donated the giant spud to the Town on Belper, a sister city to Pawtucket, RI. We want to remind everyone - especially our beloved local bars, restaurants, and community organizations - that FIFA is very strict with their copyrights. Below is a link to their Community Handbook outlining what CAN and CANNOT be done. The graphic is a simplified one-sheet Ocean State 2026 did. Please share if you can with other organizations, bars, etc.

FIFA will be watching hashtags and looking for people posting what they're not supposed to (using FIFA, World Cup, the tournament trophy, team badges, unlicensed images, etc.). There are already instances out there. The solution is using generic terms such as the big soccer tournament and country flags. They are also watching for bootleg merchandise being sold at or outside events, and will shut events down and pull licensed away.

We just want folks to have as much fun as possible and not have to deal with annoying legal stuff.

If anyone has any questions or needs futher clarification, please reach out to us

It was great to hear Mayor Chris Beauchamp's vision for Woonsocket and be in the room with so many community leaders at last night's State of the City Address! The city has a plan and is inviting you to be part of it. To paraphrase the Mayor, it's not only about what the city was... it's about what it will be.

Stay tuned — BIG things are coming during Pawtucket's Summer of Celebration! ✨
