To all members,
We need your help to protect our ability to continue to conduct charitable gaming in the manner we do currently. This summer the KY Department of Charitable Gaming will cease to exist as their function will move over to the group who govern horse racing in Kentucky. As you know the main player in that industry reaps hugh profits daily conducting its business and no satisfied until they have it all. To do this they can afford lobbyists in the ear of every lawmaker in Frankfort. The non profits, operating under the Department of charitable gaming use their profits to further their mission which identifies them as non profit, can’t afford lobbyists at the Capitol as their profits go to the local communities not to sharholders willing to push competition away to get record breaking profits each year. It is not a coincidence that KDCG is being eliminated and soon after its license holders will be pushed out by overbearing rules and/or fees the small groups will not be able to comply.
SUPPORT THIS: HB 566 - Protect Charitable Gaming
We are encouraging all our members to contact state lawmakers to ask that NO changes or amendments be made to this bill in while the Senate committee. CHD is trying to introduce language that could affect our current style, software and payouts for E-tab Machines, Bingo Payouts and raffles that would be a detriment to your fund raising efforts. It’s vital we protect what is currently in place for our Posts, Clubs, Charities and Church organizations.
