Merrick Medical Thrift Shop in Central City, 1601 16th St, Central City, NE. We are Weekly: Wednesday 10-4; Thursday 10-7; Friday 10-4; Closed Saturday. The Merrick Medical Auxiliary Thrift Shop located in downtown Central City, continues to meet the needs of area shoppers by recycling gently used donations of clothing, shoes, knick-knacks, house wares and more and offering them for sale at our st

ore. Nearly 100 volunteers help to clean, sort, price and sell the items at the Thrift Shop, which is open only three and a half days a week. The Thrift Shop has continued over the years to fund huge projects for whatever the greatest needs of the facility are. The Thrift Shop continues to be very successful thanks to all of our faithful donors and all of our amazing volunteers! The store accepts donations year-round. The merchandise must be clean and sell-able. Items include clothing of all sizes, household goods, jewelry, books (excluding textbooks and encyclopedias), knick-knacks, shoes, purses, curtains and drapes, craft items, toys, holiday items and decorations, magazines, records and much more. They also accept small appliances and small items of furniture. They cannot accept TV's, mattresses, large appliances or entertainment centers The Thrift Shop will gladly give you a receipt for your donations for your tax records...just ask. This is a DIY decorative vase made from plastic spoons—simple but looks surprisingly elegant.

Materials:
Plastic spoons
Empty jar, can, or bottle
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Spray paint (gold or any color)
Artificial or real flowers
Steps:
Prepare the spoons
Cut off the handles, keep only the rounded part
Prepare the base
Clean and dry your jar or container
Glue the spoons
Start from the bottom
Glue spoon heads in overlapping rows (like scales)
Keep layering upward
Paint
Once fully covered, spray paint the whole vase
Let it dry completely
Decorate
Add flowers or greenery inside

This would be an easy way to dress up some of the candles that we have at the thrift store.

Paint bottles, then seal with mod podge or clear spray paint. Use paint pens to paint on flowers. Accent with twine or ribbon.
