Cedar Valley Flourish Families would like to thank Eastern Iowa Youth Bassmasters for their recent donation of fishing poles & tackle for our upcoming yearly family event! Our organization serves single mothers and their children. Each year we celebrate Mothers Day with a picnic and fishing. This will be the second year that the Eastern Iowa Youth Bassmasters will volunteer to help the kids fish. Last year there were over 400 fish caught!! They set up lakeside just like a regular fishing tournament and keep track of the weight and number of fish caught by each angler. They also supply trophies. What a great organization with hearts to mentor others to fish.

I had the privilege of being a boat captain yesterday for two of our jr. High School anglers. They were able too pull off a 2nd and a 3rd place finish in jr. division . This was the first tournament for both , great work guys. It was also the first time that either one of them had ever ran a trolling motor on a boat, much less than in 20 mph winds, by end of the day they were both doing a great job of it. Our next tournament will be jr. High school state tournament, can’t wait to see how they do.
