MCLI Session 4: Education & Workforce Development 📚🎓
This week, our Muhlenberg County Leadership Institute participants explored the vital connection between education and workforce development.
We started the day with Kentucky Changers, learning about how they serve the community while teaching middle and high school students valuable lessons in leadership, mentorship, and teamwork, and safety.
The day included visits to Muhlenberg County Middle School, the West Kentucky Regional Technical Training Center, the Muhlenberg County High School CTE Wing, and the Muhlenberg County Board of Education.
A special thank you to Nika Ball and Carrie Clark, Muhlenberg County Schools tour. Mack McGehee-Judge Executive, for leading the technical training center tour. We also appreciate Kendra Pate, CTE Assistant Principal, for hosting the CTE visit.
Our education panel featured Brian Lile, incoming superintendent; Ashley Vincent Poore with Adult Education; and Brittany Hernandez-Stevenson from Madisonville Community College. Participants also took part in a Profile of a Learner activity, project discussions, and Defense of Learning presentation by student Maycee Wilson.
A big thank you to Chamber member Subway – Powderly location for providing lunch!
Thank you to all of our presenters and partners for investing in the future leaders of Muhlenberg County. Together, we’re building stronger connections between education, leadership, and workforce opportunities.
