New Update
Some background info. CRYFL operates independently of our school. The school has always been very accommodating and worked exceptionally well with us as we’ve used the schools grounds and facilities more and more.
They have never wanted us to practice on the baseball field grass and we’ve always respected that wish.
As the bond that we’ve passed gets closer to the construction phase on some of our facilities, there has been some uncertainty as to the timelines for construction and what field availability might look like. We still don’t have firm dates and plans yet for construction this upcoming season.
In previous discussion with the school administration , there was enough uncertainty in scheduling that it was safe to assume the game field wouldn’t be available for CRYFL to use at times this year.
So we made the decision that we wouldn’t host our own flag football league this year, knowing that Warrensburg Parks and Recreation was an option and still open for registration (and where our kids used to play previously). We waited as long as we felt we could for some clarity on what the timeline for our facilities would be this fall.
Since our announcement last night, we’ve had some more discussions with multiple people with the school and they’ve offered us the option to use the baseball field this year.
So it looks like we’ll be able to continue with our CRYFL flag league. We’ve had a family volunteer to take on some of the workload. They are going to help with registration, the draft, scheduling, overseeing the league, and communication with the flag teams.
But we are still going to need more volunteers to come forward to help. Moving to the baseball field will require more time to paint, set up on game days, etc.
We had problems last year finding anyone willing to help in that area. If interested in helping out, please let us know.
