“Albert” aka “Bert “or as my nephew Jackson calls him “Einstein”, wears a grazing muzzle for overnight turnout in our 10 acre pasture (for health reasons ). He has not only figured out how to routinely get it off no matter how we adjust it, but has now has politely started leaving it where he knows we will easily find it. It’s become quite the game…one night next to the new fly trap, another beside the water trough, and today on a dressage letter! Unfortunately for him, he is now spending his nights in a dry lot with the donkey and grazing for a couple hours in the mornings.

💔 Honoring two of our greatest heroes: Stevie & Knut
It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news with our community. Next month, we will be laying to rest two of our most cherished, foundational therapy horses: Stevie and Knut.
For years, these two gentle souls have been the heartbeat of our program. They have carried riders of all abilities, offered comfort on the hardest days, and taught us all the true meaning of trust, patience, and unconditional love. Stevie’s famous hugs and Knut’s steady strength have left an indelible imprint on thousands of lives.
Letting them go is the hardest decision we make, but it is the ultimate act of love to ensure they go peacefully and with dignity.
We invite you to help us celebrate their incredible legacies over the next month: 👇 Please share your favorite photos, stories, and memories of Stevie and Knut in the comments below. 🌾 If you would like to make a donation to the Shane Center in their memory to help carry their legacy of healing forward, please visit https://www.shanecenter.org/donate
Thank you, Stevie and Knut, for a lifetime of service to others. 🕊️✨
