Robert H. “Bob” Kuck II
Past District Governor — Rotary District 6600
Robert H. “Bob” Kuck II has devoted much of his life to Rotary, international service, and helping improve the lives of people around the world.
Bob grew up on a dairy farm near New Knoxville, Ohio. He attended Heidelberg College before earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. After college, he taught and coached at Marion Local High School before beginning a successful career in commercial real estate. Over the next four decades, Bob built two real estate brokerage and development businesses.
Bob began his Rotary journey as a member of the Wapakoneta Rotary Club, where he served as Club President. His Rotary leadership soon extended to the district level when he was selected to serve as District Governor of Rotary District 6600. At just 32 years old, Bob became the youngest person ever to serve as District Governor in District 6600.
Following his service as District Governor, Bob helped establish the New Bremen–New Knoxville Rotary Club, bringing Rotary to the communities near where he grew up.
One of Bob’s greatest Rotary legacies is MESA — Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad. The program began during Bob’s district leadership and grew into one of Rotary District 6600’s signature international service projects, collecting medical equipment and supplies and providing them to communities in need around the world.
Bob’s commitment to international service continued well beyond his year as District Governor. He and his wife, Linda, spent several years working with disadvantaged Indigenous communities in the Sierra Tarahumara region of Chihuahua, Mexico. Those experiences helped lead to the establishment of Creation Care International, which serves people living in remote Indigenous communities.
Bob and Linda have also been dedicated supporters of the Guatemala Literacy Project, a major Rotary-supported effort that has brought educational opportunities to underserved students in Guatemala.
Bob is also an author. His lifelong interest in Native American history and the early American frontier inspired his historical novel, Blood and Honor: The Life and Times of Fur Trader Pierre-Louis de Lorimier.
Today, Bob continues his Rotary journey as an Honorary Member of Pathways Rotary Club. From Club President and District Governor to helping establish a new Rotary club and creating an international humanitarian program, Bob’s lifetime of service is an outstanding example of Rotary’s ideal of Service Above Self.
