Meet our 2026 Oldtime Farming Festival Parade Grand Marshall; a peek at his bio.

Stephen M Wright has been a resident of Centerburg and farmer of 2 separate farms since the early 1960's. He was drafted in 1968 to go to the Republic of Vietnam where he stayed till 1970 being a M-175 Howitzer driver and gunner. He later retired from the Army in 1995 and from Motor Carrier Enforcement of Ohio, a division of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2001. Since his retirement and far before, he loved collecting and restoring Massey Harris and Massey Ferguson tractors that he grew up on.

The Parade Marshall will also help judge a couple classes at the horticultural exhibit then move on to help judge some of the art exhibit entries.

“Little Sprouts” our newest class in the Horticultural Exhibit has been assigned class #40 on the registration form. We are hoping to see lots of Kindergarten and younger enter this category from the 70+ free seed starting kits we distributed this past April.
***Please remember the named exhibitor must be present when the entry is delivered.
***Save yourself lots of time and register online. Your entry tags will be waiting for you when you arrive.

The Horticultural Exhibit online application has been activated. It will remain active until midnight on September 15th.
Go to our www.oldtimefarmingfestival.com website click on entry forms/horticulture exhibit/apply online
This process proved to be a great success last year and most of the applicants used it.
When you use the online application all of your tags are ready for you when you arrive to submit your entries. All you need do is bring you items, collect your premade tags, place on your entries and place on the display. No more long lines waiting to register.

This restored 1949 John Deere M 2-cylinder will be one of the raffle items at our 2026 Oldtime Farming Festival. More items to be announced as they become available. Get your raffle tickets and meet us at the main Stage on Sunday September 20th, 4:00pm

The Members of the Oldtime Farming Festival send our heartfelt condolences to the Litzenberg family as they morn the loss of Dick Litzenberg.
Dick was our festival parade marshal a few years back and also a member of the committee. We send our appreciation for his contributions serving the needs of the festival and therefore, the community.
Richie and Judy Litzenberg are members still today.
The Festival Committee family send prayers to the whole of the Litzenberg family as they navigate these coming days without him.
Judy shared the following arrangements with us to share with you:
Calling hours are Thursday evening August 13th between 5 - 8pm, with the funeral service on Friday August 14th at 11 am. Everything will be at Milford Church of Christ, 3648 Johnstown Road, Centerburg

“LITTLE SPROUTS” : A new category/class for the 2026 Oldtime Farming Festival Horticultural show. - The Centerburg Garden Club is sponsoring a brand new category in honor of America’s 250th birthday celebration. Class #40 is called “Little Sprouts” and is designated for our Pre-School gardeners. This new category was inspired by the many little tikes that came to our “Free Seed Starting Kit” giveaway held this past April. The class is open to little gardeners Kindergarten or younger.
The youngsters can enter up to two items they worked towards growing, gathering, or creating that would otherwise fit into any of the other classes; 1 through 38. Enter online via the Oldtimefarmingfestival.com website. The online entry form will be opened up on August 31st and open until mid-night on September 15th.

Pre-schoolers are also welcome to enter any of the other youth/junior classes too. However, the entries in the “Little Sprouts” class #40 will only be competing against the others in that same class. All other pre-established rules of participation will apply to this new class.
The Centerburg Garden Club is excited to see how many little sprouts will grow up to be gardeners and farmers.
Be sure to pick up your entry numbers and deliver your items at the Horticultural Show registration table on Friday September 18th between 6-8pm or on Saturday September 19th between 9am and Noon. Exhibitors must be present at the time of class entry drop off.
