Project Glimmer is hosting a free, virtual speaker series for female-identifying high school students, hosted via Zoom in partnership with leading companies including L'Oréal, Sephora, The RealReal, Charles Schwab, and more.

Each session features a panel of accomplished women sharing how they got to where they are — their career paths, industry insights, and real advice for the next generation. Students also have the opportunity to ask questions live, practice networking skills, and get an inside look at companies and careers they may never have considered.

🎉 We have some exciting news to share! Please join us in welcoming Moses “Mo Whit” Whitaker to our nonprofit board as our new Community Relations Specialist! 🤝✨

Mo Whit is a local business owner, community leader, and dedicated public servant who is passionate about bringing people together and creating opportunities for others.

Here are a few reasons we are so excited to have him on board:

🏛️ Serving Our Neighbors: Moses is a City Councilor for Center Point (District 4) and chairs the Economic Development Committee.

Today is National Nonprofit Day! 🎈When Dare to Dream started here in Birmingham, we knew that creating lasting change would require a dedicated village. A year later, we are still completely blown away by the generosity, passion, and kindness of the people right here in our community.

From the volunteers who show up early to help, to the donors who sustain our programs, to the families who trust us with their journeys—thank you. You are the reason we can keep doing what we do every day in the Magic City. ✨

Before we share more updates about our Birmingham summer sessions and community initiatives, I want to formally introduce the heartbeat of Dare to Dream: our Executive Board! 💛

These amazing individuals donate their time and expertise to make sure we can continue empowering young girls ages 5–18. They build the foundation that allows our girls to develop confidence, build leadership skills, and break barriers.

3️⃣ days until Session #2 kicks off this Saturday! This weekend, we are asking our young leaders a critical question: "What color is your parachute?" 🪂✨

In career development, your parachute consists of your unique skills, core strengths, and the target environments where you thrive. This Saturday, our students will dive into self-discovery exercises with their professional mentors to unpack exactly what they bring to the table. We are helping them map out a soft landing for their future careers by identifying their passions early!💡

A massive thank you to the teams at Taco Mama - Trussville and Coca-Cola for investing in Alabama's future workforce and keeping our students fueled and focused. Let's make an impact this Saturday!

The countdown is officially over! Tomorrow, we are launching our very first session of the Dare to Dream: Pathways to Success program!

This program is all about empowering young girls in our community with essential career, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills. Our mentees will be pairing up with incredible local mentors to set goals, build confidence, and unlock exciting milestone rewards along the way.

We want to send a massive thank you to the parents, mentors, and local partners who have stepped up to support this mission. We are so proud of these students for investing in their own futures.
