Our friends at the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium are launching Cohort 2 of their incredible Dream Investment Program, and applications open next week!

If you are a young creator or an early-stage entrepreneur here in Birmingham, this is your sign to take your vision to the next level. The program offers 16 weeks of training, mentorship, and seed funding to help you thrive.

Applications for cohort 2 of the Dream Investment Program open next week! Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium is investing in young and early-stage entrepreneurs through 16 weeks of training, mentorship and seed funding.

👧🏾 Young Entrepreneurs (ages 13–17): $2,500, 10 selected
👩🏾‍💼 Early-Stage Entrepreneurs (2–5 years in business): $5,000, 10 selected

The program runs November 2026 to April 2027, with graduation at the 2027 Black Girls Dream Conference in Dallas, TX, June 11–12.

⚠️ Only the first 150 applications will be accepted. Applications close Thursday, October 22 at 11:59 PM ET, or once we receive 150, whichever comes first. Mark your calendar and plan to apply early.

Jamiese joins us with an incredible background as a television journalist, communications professional, and purpose-driven storyteller. Throughout her career, she has amplified community voices, asked tough questions, and told stories that truly matter.

Now, she is bringing that powerful experience to Dare to Dream! Jamiese will lead our communications and outreach efforts as we continue our mission to empower girls ages 5–18 through mentorship, leadership development, and career readiness. 🚀For Jamiese, this work is about making sure the right stories are heard, vital connections are made, and young women everywhere know their dreams are worth pursuing.
