Silicon Alley Recyclers is now closed.
Since our opening, it has been our mission to provide a safe and responsible way to recycle old computers and electronic devices. With your support, we have diverted countless items from landfills and contributed to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

This decision was not made lightly, and while we are saddened by this outcome, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us throughout the years. Your commitment to proper e-waste disposal made our work meaningful and impactful.

Thank you for joining us in protecting the environment.

We are pleased to share that all major components of the repairs required to be completed when the City of Center Line shut us down months ago are finished; just one small detail remains to be finalized. Currently, we are awaiting final certification to resume operations.
Due to the requirement to remove most of our inventory during this process, our resources have been significantly depleted. As a result, we are currently seeking monetary donations to help cover the cost of building rent. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept new recyclable items until we receive an official clearance to reopen. Additionally, until we have our normal hours, we are unable to accommodate the level of volunteer support necessary to function efficiently.
Please note that while all donations are greatly appreciated, they are not tax deductible. Donation Link: https://ko-fi.com/siliconalley
Thank you to all those trying to volunteer and we hope to be at full speed soon to accommodate you all.

Hello everyone, Sam here. Volunteer since 2011 and the new face/President of Silicon Alley Recyclers -- this post is not about me. I've been asked for an update about Ron and here is what you should know. When Ron's stroke originally happened, Ron did not want to post that he had a stroke publicly. Ron had a stroke in September of 2024. However, he has since essentially completely recovered. He can walk, talk, and think like before including all the bad jokes! His phone number has not changed, if you want to talk to him, call or text. Keep in mind he may be busy with physical therapy, sleeping, or eating. He is currently in assisted living because the doctor has not cleared him to go home. Once Ron is back home, he will be doing a lot of organizing. He will not have a car. I am personally planning to take him every Saturday to Silicon Alley Recyclers as that is something he wants to do once we reopen, I will also be bringing him to grocery stores/basic needs after the store closes for the day. Ron will not return to leadership role; however Silicon Alley Recyclers is not changing its vision. To recycle or put back into re-use -- computers and electronics.
