FYI, loyal followers… Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger (MSAH), is a nonprofit that connects hunters, wild game processors, and food banks to provide free venison to communities in need.

How it works… Hunters donate their whole deer to an MSAH processor (Jerome Country Market). Processors grind and package the venison for safe distribution. MSAH reimburses processors through funds raised by donors & sponsors. Food banks and pantries then distribute directly to families in need.

Not only are they supporting the pantry, they are supporting local farms and youth programs because the pork was purchased at the Lenawee County Fair 💙

If you weren’t aware… The Brooklyn Food Pantry will construct a new buidling located at the corner of Irwin and Sheridan streets, to further support food insecurities in our community.

Our building campaign is just $30,000 short of our $150,000 goal. We are very excited about the community support we have received. Our volunteers alone have contributed $3,100 toward the buidling fund, demonstrating their commitment on top of the countless hours they have devoted to helping those in need.

We hope to reach our fundraising goal by Labor Day, which coincides with our plan to start construction in the fall.

The Brooklyn Food Pantry is a 501 (c)3 org. Which means donations are tax deductible. Donations are accepted by check designating “Building Fund,” can be mailed to PO Box 122, Brooklyn, MI 49230, or you can donate online at www.brooklynfoodpantry.com.

Thank you Rick & Robyn Shore! The Shores are long term supporters of The Brooklyn Food Pantry. Their Roots and Strings Series started with a love for music and resulted in 57 shows, brining in over $38,000 in donations to the pantry. They were honored with a plaque at their most recent performance on April 23rd. A bench of honor in Rick & Robyn’s name will also sit outside the new building reminding us that their support and the support of others is what keeps our community moving forward.
