🩷 MORE THAN PINK: THE WAITING

There’s a part of breast cancer that doesn’t get talked about enough.

The waiting.

Waiting for an appointment.
Waiting for a test.
Waiting for results.
Waiting for the phone to ring.

And somehow, while you wait, life keeps going.

You go to work. Make dinner. Answer texts. Take care of everyone else. Maybe even laugh and have a completely normal day.

But somewhere in the back of your mind is the question you can’t turn off:

“What are they going to tell me?”

That’s something a pink ribbon can’t show.

This October, we want to talk about those parts, too.

Because breast cancer is More Than Pink. 🩷⚓

🩷 TONIGHT, THIS IS WHAT MORE THAN PINK LOOKED LIKE.

Tonight at the pink ribbon flags, we gathered the people who know breast cancer in very different ways.

The survivors and those still fighting.
A sisterhood no one asks to join, connected by experiences that sometimes don’t need words.

The family, friends and caregivers.
The ones who sit in waiting rooms, drive to appointments, make the meals, send the texts, hold the hands and carry part of the weight.

And together.

Because breast cancer may happen to one person, but it is rarely carried by one person alone.

Tonight wasn’t about taking a picture.

It was about seeing the people behind the pink ribbon—and the people standing beside them.

To everyone who joined us tonight, thank you for allowing us to capture something very special.

This is community.
This is strength.
This is hope.
This is MORE THAN PINK. 🩷⚓

Breast cancer doesn’t always look like what we expect.

Sometimes it looks like going to work while waiting for results. Making dinner when you’re exhausted. Getting the kids where they need to be. Sitting through another appointment—and then going right back to everyday life.

It’s the side effects no one sees.
The worry in the quiet moments.
The good days and the hard days.
The fear. The hope. The unknown.

That’s the part a pink ribbon can’t always show.

This October, we’re talking about all of it.

Please share and help us reach the women and men in our community who belong in this picture. 💗

42,140 LIVES. 🩷

When you look at this ribbon, it’s easy to see thousands of pink flags.

We see people.

Mothers. Daughters. Sisters. Wives. Friends. Neighbors. And men.

Each flag represents a life that will be lost to breast cancer in the United States this year.

530 of those lives represent men.

This display isn’t meant simply to be beautiful.

It’s meant to make us stop.

To remember the people behind the numbers.
To honor those we’ve lost.
To stand beside those fighting today.
And to remind our community that breast cancer is so much MORE THAN PINK.

If you drive past Eastview Park this month, take a moment to really look.

These aren’t decorations.

Breast cancer isn’t just an October cause.

It’s the phone call someone never expected.
It’s waiting for answers.
It’s the drive to treatment.
It’s trying to keep life normal when nothing feels normal.
It’s survivorship, fear, hope, family and community.

This October, Pink Anchor Foundation is going beyond the pink ribbon.

We’re going to remember those we’ve lost.
Share what breast cancer really looks like.
Talk about the things people don’t always see.
And show what can happen when a community anchors together.

Because awareness matters.
