Marion Local senior Madison Steinbrunner says nearly 10 years in 4-H have helped her build confidence, develop leadership skills and discover her future career.
Through the Sowers and Growers 4-H Club, Madison has completed projects ranging from archery and cake decorating to woodworking. She has also traveled to Colorado through the 4-H Exchange Program and served as a camp counselor.
Her experience working with younger members helped Madison realize she wants to become a pediatrician.
Madison and her mother, Deanna, recently joined WCSM’s Spectrum as part of our celebration of National 4-H Week.

Three Celina High School seniors are showing how 4-H can help shape skills, friendships and future careers.

Mason Homan, Ty Shoupe and Logan Homan joined WCSM’s Spectrum during National 4-H Week to discuss their projects, experiences and plans after graduation.

Mason is preparing to study nuclear medicine, Ty is considering automotive or diesel mechanics, and Logan hopes to become an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.

Wow! What an incredible first year for Mercer County- Real Money, Real World program!

Yesterday and today, approximately 500 Mercer County 8th grades students experienced hands-on lessons in financial literacy, budgeting, and real-life decision-making.

We’re so thankful for the 50+ volunteers each day who are helping students navigate the simulation, as well as the 20+ community professionals sharing their careers through bringing in large equipment/vehicles.

This event has been an incredible collaboration between OSU Extension, the Grand Lake Regional Education Service Center and Mercer County Fair, bringing educators, businesses, community leaders, volunteers, and students together for a meaningful experience.

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make this event possible! It was exciting to see the conversations, questions, and learning happening throughout the day.
