TerraMica is a non-profit humanitarian organization working to alleviate poverty among coffee farmers

Through our educational program, we train impoverished families how to improve generational behaviors in physical health, relationships, faith, and their environment. We then rebuild the physical home to a healthy and safe status. Our "My Healthy Home" program incorporates a two-pronged approach in alleviating the devastating impact of poverty on farming families: we focus on improving home infras

tructure as well as providing culturally relevant curriculum and training. Training: TerraMica provides a local facilitator-led training program for farming families living in extreme poverty. It focuses on changing generational attitudes and behaviors around personal, familial, spiritual, and environmental health and well-being, including disease prevention strategies and management of household and community resources. This holistic training program leads to an improved outlook on life, faith, and personal, family, and community transformation. Infrastructure: The family house structure is brought up to a safe and healthy standard in the areas of water storage tank with water filter; secure roof; impermeable walls; cement floor; and latrine. Each of these areas contribute to improved health for family members, as well as greatly improved dignity and pride in the home. By addressing physical, spiritual, and relational health through training and providing improved household infrastructure, the well-being of families is dramatically impacted, and people have hope for a better future!

Approximately 72.5 million men, women, and children represent coffee farming families globally, and those families produce 60% of the world's coffee! 31.9 million of them live below the poverty level. That is where you will find us, working to alleviate generational poverty.

His gnarled hands are dirty and sore from harvesting ripe coffee cherries. The work is painstaking, picking through branches, seeking ripe red cherries. The life of a coffee farmer is not easy, and he makes very little from his work, and he and his family live below the UN ultra poverty level. That is why TerraMica works with small shareholder coffee farming families, to alleviate the impact of poverty and improve quality of life through proven, effective training for families and communities.
