This picture is from when y’all helped us to an unbelievable first banquet. We worked our tails off to make the banquet as successful as it was. We also couldn’t have packed the house without you all either.
This was our first time doing anything like this, and we had no idea what to expect. We understand that some were upset that they didn’t get enough food. We understand that completely. We had enough food to feed 150 people comfortably. We had 220+ people. So, we had to improvise and change a few things in order for everybody to be fed. We were expecting to be closer to the 150 people mark. We are very grateful that we had as many as we did because you all helped to make it the success it was.
I know there’s some out there who were upset that we did not get to keep the money from the banquet. Trust me, we would have loved to been able to. We knew how this was going to work going into it. It’s a requirement for us to have a chapter under the NWTF banner that we must have one fundraiser/banquet per year. Here’s a fantastic statement that one of our committee members said:
“If one just thinks about it. We all are little groups of the NWTF, supporting the NWTF mission. As a whole the, NWTF will have a much larger impact on conservation than what our little group by itself can.”
He could not have explained it better than he did. We need that help in order to support a much larger goal. We also understand that our biggest resource in this county is kids. That’s we are doing the Jake’s day on September 16th. That’s why we are trying to sell the chances we are doing right now in order to support our biggest resource. If the next generation doesn’t like to enjoy the outdoors, it will eventually go away. With all that said, we are beyond grateful for the supper we received and hope to continue receiving that support.
