Pam presented the SVSC 2026 Midwinter BBQ beneficiary proceeds to Jenny and Kermit. Jenny and Kermit are the founders and dynamite behind “Growing Modoc” a local nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting healthy active ethical youth.
The mission of Surprise Valley Service Club (SVSC) is to help serve and support our community of Surprise Valley.

We meet and have supper two times a month on the first and third Wednesdays. If you are interested in helping your community, or know of a need, please come join us for supper and friendship. We are also known as the Surprise Valley Supper Club.

2026 Midwinter BBQ in the books! Great teamwork with members and volunteers…so appreciated.
The meal was well received; steaks were tender & juicy, ranch beans received high reviews, and the desserts were over the top.
Thank you everyone for your contribution to your community. It is, after all, all about supporting our community. 🙌

Almond Croissant Bread Pudding and a Fresh Apple & Pecan Cake are headed to the fabulous desert buffet at our Mid-Winter BBQ. This evening, 5:30 until gone [8:ish]. Modoc District Fairgrounds Dance Hall, Cedarville. Looking forward to seeing you!

Next Saturday (2/21/26) is just around the corner, the presale tickets will disappear Friday evening. If you don’t have your tickets already, this is your chance to save a few buck$ while you are supporting your community and youth.
Note: We made a menu change, no Hawaiian rolls, we changed to the Brass Rail’s Basque Bread.
2nd Note: The desert buffet is second to none.

We had our annual Surprise Valley Service Club BBQ potluck last week. Sharlene & Tanis Minto hosted us at their home in Eagleville. Clayton grilled the steaks and the SVSC members and guests provided the potluck. WOW💥 the food was fabulous and the setting beautiful. A wonderful evening with friends.
Our club meets every other Wednesday at 6:pm, we have a catered supper, and organize our business and projects. The club name is Surprise Valley Service Club and we provide help and support to all of the organizations and citizens in Surprise Valley. I refer to our club as “Supper Club’ our suppers are always excellent. Want more information, message me and I’ll answer your questions.

Surprise Valley is a wonderful place to find heritage apples from the original settlers of California.

We are proud to co-sponsor this amazing event, hosted by Modoc Harvest's Heritage Fruit Tree Project, on October 11th at the Marchy Barn! Come check out Modoc County's fascinating history of heritage apple varieties, eat some great food, visit with old and new friends, and listen to live music!
