The Modoc County Junior Livestock Show and Sale (usually referred to as "JLS") is just around the corner-June 15-19th, 2026.

Local 4-H and FFA members exhibit and sell their market animals at the Friday night auction.
The Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce has been a long time supporter of our Valley's 4-H and FFA members at the JLS auction.

The Chamber coordinates a Surprise Valley Buyers Pool to boost the sales amount for our Valley participants!
We all know how hard these kids have worked to raise and train their animals! We'd love it if you'd like to help us support our Valley 4-H and FFA members!

Donations to the Buyers Pool-in any amount— can be mailed to the Surprise Valley Chamber at
P.O. Box 518, Cedarville, CA 96104 or donations can be dropped off at The Sunrise Motel. For more information get in touch with Candy Maidens—530-708-1894.
Thanks so so much for your support!! Donations need to be in by June 10th.

June is right around the corner!! We invite you all to join us for our Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce meetings: Wednesday, June 10th and Wednesday, June 24th! The meetings are at NOON at the CalVada History Museum on Main Street in Cedarville, Ca. All are welcome!

Hard to believe we’re almost ready to celebrate the month of May!! Our Chamber meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. In May that will be Wednesday the 13th and Wednesday the 27th. Meetings are held at the CalVada History Museum on Main Street in Cedarville. All are welcome!

The Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Modoc Farm Bureau is hosting a Board of Supervisors Candidates Night on Thursday, April 30th at the Surprise Valley VFW Hall. Come meet the three individuals running to be your District 1 Supervisor. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Debate begins at 6:00 pm. And…Modoc Superior Court Judge candidates, Randall Harr and Tom Griffin may be in attendance as well.

Starting in April the Surprise Valley Chamber meetings will be at the CalVada History Museum on Main Street in Cedarville. The meetings for April are Wednesday the 8th and Wednesday the 22nd. Meetings are at NOON. Everyone is welcome. See you there!

We’re heading into spring in our community! Here’s to a strong season, steady hands and shared success!! Our Chamber meetings in March are Wednesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 25th at NOON at the Senior Center in Cedarville! All are welcome!
