We stepped on a crunchy leaf this morning and it got us in our fall feels. Granted, the leaf was crunchy because it was withered up by the mid-August heat and not by lack of photosynthesis, but still ... it had a nice autumnal crunch to it. πŸ˜†

That got us thinking about the BOO Bash πŸŽƒ

Our seventh annual BOO Bash is just around the bend! It's a fun, family oriented event with free carnival style games, copious amount of sugar and a costume contest to boot.

Date: October 17
Time: 4-7 pm
Location: Bert Wood Park

With more than 1,000 visitors last year, the success and popularity of this annual event is due to our wonderful community.

Each year, local organizations, churches, clubs and businesses invest their time and money into making this a spooktacular event.

If you'd like to sign up as a candy dealer and festival frivolity maker, please use the form below to sign up. https://cedartowngeorgia.gov/boo-bash/

There's NO cost to participate and candy IS NOT required (because we know that candy price point ain't what it used to be) but it is always appreciated by the kids (and the parents who levy a candy tax).

We do require participants to create a fun, age-appropriate carnival style game or activity. Use your imagination and if you don't have one, Pinterest is your friend πŸ™‚

We kicked off Monday evening with a fast-paced game of dodge ball to get everyone moving. There were plenty of laughs, a few impressive catches, and just enough friendly competition to get the heart pumping before heading into our lesson.

During class, we learned about fitness and nutrition and how the choices we make today affect our health tomorrow. The Trailmen talked about the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods, why moderation is important, and how proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, and dairy each play an important role in helping our bodies grow strong. We also discussed how poor eating habits can lead to health problems over time and why regular exercise helps build stronger muscles, healthier hearts, better coordination, and lifelong healthy habits.

One thing that really stood out to the boys was discovering just how often the Bible talks about taking care of ourselves. God has entrusted each of us with our bodies, and caring for them through good nutrition, exercise, and self-discipline is one way we honor Him.

"Do not love sleep, or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare." - Proverbs 20:13

This verse reminds us that while rest is important, God also calls us to live with purpose. Being active, working hard, learning new things, and taking care of our bodies prepares us to better serve Him and those around us.

As always, we wrapped up the evening with fellowship, games, and plenty of smiles. It's amazing to watch these young men encourage one another, build friendships, and grow together in faith and character each week.

If you're looking for a place where your son can learn practical life skills, enjoy outdoor adventures, make lifelong friends, and grow in his walk with Christ, we'd love to have your family join us!
