Welcome to the Woman's Building, a working example of a volunteer legacy that we respect and hold dear. On February 5, 1935 a group of ladies, representing each of the women's clubs then in existence, met in the Hawkes Library to discuss plans for a community meeting place. The Cedartown Federated Women's Club became the inspiration, the Big Springs Park became the site, and native fieldstone lined with pine became the building. The Woman's Building is suitable for events such as: meetings, weddings, rehearsals, receptions, showers, teas, piano recitals, family reunions, and church events. • The Woman's Building is NOT to be used for dances, children (of any age) or youth parties, fund-raising, or for profit events. • Alcohol/Drug/Tobacco/Smoke Free Environment. • Sound equipment (including DJ’s, amplifiers, speakers, or instruments) is not allowed. • Follow instructions regarding heat and air units that are on each end of the main room. Keep all outside doors closed. • No janitorial service or garbage pick-up is furnished. All garbage must be removed from the premise. Remember to take large garbage bags. • Complete all items on the "clean-up/lock-up" checklist. • Building is to be cleaned, in order, and key returned on same date as rental date. • The Big Spring Watercolor over the mantel and the piano must be left in place. Furniture must remain inside the building. Furniture may be moved within the building. Handle carefully, do not stack, or place over vents. All folding tables and chairs must be returned to the storage closet. Do not place arrangements containing water or food items on the piano.
