ALA welcomes pathbreaking study on the state of the nation’s library facilities.

"In times of emergency, entire communities, including federal first responders, lean on public library spaces for computers and a reliable internet connection, access to food, water, shelter and even help accessing disaster relief funds. As community anchors, library buildings themselves need to withstand the emergencies that their communities face."

An unredacted voter file contains complete voter registration information, including sensitive personal details such as names, addresses, dates of birth, driver's license numbers, and the last four digits of Social Security numbers, without any information being withheld or obscured. This type of file can raise privacy and security concerns if shared improperly.

We are asking voters to call their legislators today to urge their Assembly Representatives vote to OPPOSE SB553.
The LWVUS has held the position of the individual’s right to privacy in making reproductive health decisions, inclusive of abortion, since 1983. This bill attempts to dictate the care a physician can provide and potentially interfere with the doctor-patient relationship.
