Each year we commemorate the anniversary of the August 26, 1920, passage of the 19th amendment giving American women the right to vote, an occasion we have celebrated in Linn County on this date since 1976. During our celebration, we honor women who have made a significant contribution to the lives of women and girls in Linn County as our Women of the Year, and announce the winner of the Nancylee Ziese Memorial Scholarship.
