Please take a moment to support S. 2510, the Service-Disabled Veteran Opportunities in Small Business Act

DAV supports S. 2510, the Service-Disabled Veteran Opportunities in Small Business Act. This bill would enhance federal contracting opportunities for small businesses owned by service-disabled veterans by requiring federal agencies to provide training, guidance and annual reporting to improve their performance in awarding contracts. Please contact your Senators and urge them to support this important legislation ➡️ https://dav.la/s2510.

After serving our nation, many veterans pursue the American dream of starting a small business but often face barriers in securing federal contracts due to limited support.

By mandating agency training and guidance, the bill expands opportunities for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. It also promotes accountability and transparency, with annual reports to Congress holding agencies responsible and driving continuous improvement in meeting contracting goals.

Service-disabled veterans have sacrificed for our nation, and this legislation will help ensure they receive fair and competitive opportunities to succeed in the federal marketplace.

DAV supports H.R. 3812, the STRIVE Act. Please contact your elected officials and urge them to cosponsor and support this important legislation now: https://dav.la/hr3812.

Too many veterans have been burdened with retroactive medical copayments resulting from the VA’s failure to process billing information in a timely and accurate manner. In some cases, veterans receive invoices years after receiving care amounting to thousands of dollars due to errors by VA employees or information systems. These delayed and unexpected bills can create serious financial hardship, forcing veterans to shoulder costs that are the result of VA’s own administrative failures.

H.R. 3812, the Stop Troubling Retroactive Invoices for Veteran Expenses (STRIVE) Act of 2025, would address this problem by establishing certain protections that safeguard veterans from retroactive copayments.

These provisions place the responsibility for billing errors where it belongs—on the VA—while protecting veterans from financial burdens caused by administrative mistakes.

DAV supports H.R. 2623, the Innovative Therapies Centers of Excellence Act. Please contact your elected officials and urge them to cosponsor and support this important legislation now: https://dav.la/hr2623.

This bill would require the Secretary of the VA to designate specific medical facilities as innovative therapies centers of excellence. These centers would provide cutting-edge treatment for veterans dealing with conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain, substance use disorders and other mental health challenges.

The bill sets high standards for designation, requiring partnerships with accredited educational institutions and adherence to rigorous scientific and clinical criteria and is a crucial step in providing our veterans with the innovative care they deserve. Building upon VA’s model of expediting findings from clinical trials into innovative therapies, this bill aims to significantly boost support and broaden access to these potentially transformative treatments for veterans.
