❄️ Winter Clothes, Warm Hearts! 🧥🧤

Is your kiddo's winter coat suddenly two sizes too small? Did their boots mysteriously shrink over the summer? We've got you covered!

Foster and adoptive families are invited to stop by our Clothing Closet to shop for winter clothing and cold-weather essentials for the season ahead.

Have clothing to share? Donations are welcome, too! It's the perfect time to clean out those closets and help another child stay warm this winter. Please make sure they are gently worn and laundered and ready to go to a new home.❤️

Plus, come say hello to the board member supervising the office and learn more about the people helping support our mission.

Families Helping Families of Iowa is thrilled to partner with Four Oaks and Foster SQUAD to bring Winter Wonderland and Operation Santa together for a special holiday experience filled with memories, smiles, and community connection! 💙
✨ Here’s how to participate:
🎁 Step 1: Register for Operation Santa
Connect with your caseworker or Four Oaks to register for an Operation Santa wish list by November 13.
🎄 Step 2: RSVP for Winter Wonderland at the link below
Register your family by December 4 at 3:00 p.m. Foster, adopted, relative placement, and biological children are welcome to enjoy the festivities together!

A heartfelt thank you to every organization and individual who shipped or dropped off socks and underwear for the foster and adopted children we serve. As temperatures begin to drop, these everyday necessities become even more important, and your generosity ensures that children have the basics many of us take for granted.

For a child entering care or shopping in our clothing closet, receiving new socks and underwear is more than just getting clothing. It is a reminder that their community sees them, values them, and cares about their well-being.

Thank you for responding so quickly and generously to the needs of foster families. We are continually inspired by the compassion of this community and grateful for the difference you make in the lives of children every day. 💙

What kiddos need now is hats, gloves and snowpants!

Help us welcome our newest Fall and Winter intern, Marissa Ballew. We are excited to add a teammate to our two-office team and we have some great projects for her to work on to help strengthen our programs and volunteer opportunities with FHF.

Here is a little about Marissa:

My name is Marissa and I am a new intern at Families Helping Families. A few things about me: I’m originally from Minnesota and have completed 5 years in the Navy, where I met my husband. I enjoy spending time with my 2 boys and enjoying nature.
I am working towards my Master's in Social Work and am excited to learn from the team at Families Helping Families.

📢 Office Closure – Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Families Helping Families of Iowa will be closed on Monday, October 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, October 13.
