Dear Friends:
My name is Hannah and I am 18 years old and moved from the Chicagoland area to Little Rock, Arkansas in the last 3 years. “Mission: Jammies” is an organization that I started when I was 12 years old, because I was thinking about kids who live in shelters and how many of them go without things that we take for granted, especially pajamas. Most of us are lucky enough to have comfy p
ajamas, and when we’re sick or tired, they make us feel cozy. For many kids in shelters, however, they don’t have any comfy jammies because they don’t have many things of their own. Some kids who live at shelters are coming out of family situations where they have even had to leave their houses suddenly, and weren’t able to bring much with them. My church youth group has worked with lots of kids at shelters and we know that these kids don’t have very many of the things that we are lucky enough to have. I can’t imagine living in a shelter, but if I did, I would hope that at least I had something to make me feel warm and cozy at night while I was sleeping. I am hoping that my project will help get jammies to kids in some of these shelters, starting with a few of the local shelters near where I live. Mission: Jammies is going to try to collect 500 pairs of kids’ pajamas in the next year to donate to local shelters. How you can help:
If you’d like to help Mission: Jammies, you can do so in three different ways:
1. We will accept drop offs at my house, and are trying to get as many pairs as we can . We really want WARM pajamas, if possible. We plan to have 2 special drop off days where we will try to collect as many pairs of jammies as possible; those dates will be announced soon. If you need our address, please message me through this group facebook site.
2. Please buy a “Mission: Jammies” rubber bracelet. I will be selling these bracelets for $4.00 each and $3.60 per bracelet will go to help purchase new jammies for kids in the shelter. These bracelets will be can be purchased through me.
3. Please consider making a donation to this project. You can do that via our website, (this will be up in two weeks) or write a check to me which will be used to purchase more jammies.
4. Please “LIKE” this page and invite all your friends to it; if we can get thousands of likes on this, we can raise awareness not only for the project, but for the needs of kids living in shelters. My goal is for this project to reach as many kids in shelters as possible. If you are able to help in any way, that would be appreciated! Thank you for supporting “Mission: Jammies”; I couldn’t do this project without your support! Thank you for helping me help other kids!
