TeamCAN (Teamsters Community Action Network) is a new grassroots community organizing nonprofit, the social justice arm of the Teamsters Union in Iowa. We are a network of Iowans who are organizing to improve the quality of our lives and our communities. People driven and local-issues focused, TeamCAN is backed by the power of the Teamsters, one of North America’s strongest labor unions. Drawing o
n more than a century of Teamsters experience in championing the rights of workers, TeamCAN supports everyday Americans — from all walks of life — to fight for meaningful change. Working Iowans have been losing the battle. Now there’s a strong network of fighters committed to standing with you as we take back our communities and state. TeamCAN is a 501c3 nonprofit, not a traditional labor union. We are focused on organizing in our communities to fight for Iowa’s working families in our neighborhoods and in our streets. TeamCAN has been created to provide networking, infrastructure, training, and resources to projects at the grassroots level to build local power for Iowans within the TeamCAN network. TeamCAN members have access to experienced community organizers to assist in formulating campaign strategies for local campaigns, marshalling resources, training potential or experienced activists in leadership and advocacy, and tapping into the Teamsters network to mobilize other TeamCAN members to work toward your campaign. WHO CAN JOIN TeamCAN? Anyone can be a member, but you won’t want to join unless you’re committed to the cause of the Teamsters organization: fighting for social justice town by town, street by street to build power for working individuals and families in Iowa. FIGHT BACK – JOIN TeamCAN! Learn more at www.teamcan.org.
