🚲🎄 SAVE THE DATE! Our 4th Annual Kids Bike Drive & Holiday Party is BACK! 🎁❤️
📅 Sunday, December 13, 2026
⏰ 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 Chain Reaction Bike Hub | Cedar Rapids

Four years of bikes, smiles, and community coming together — and this year, we’re dreaming even bigger!

🎯 Our goal: 200 bikes for 200 kids!
We’re doing things a little differently this year, and we need YOUR help to make it happen!

🔧 NOVEMBER: LET’S GET THOSE BIKES READY!
Instead of repairing bikes on the day of the event, we’re kicking things off early! Throughout November, volunteers will help us repair, prepare, and get bikes ready for their new homes.

No experience necessary! Whether you’re a seasoned bike mechanic or have never picked up a wrench, there’s a place for you. We’ll provide the tools, guidance, and plenty of opportunities to make a difference.

🚲 HAVE A KIDS BIKE TO DONATE?
We’re collecting gently used children’s bicycles to help us reach our goal of giving away 200 bikes! That bike sitting unused in your garage could become someone’s favorite holiday memory.

🎉 DECEMBER 13: A CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY!
With the bikes ready to roll, event day will be all about what matters most — bringing people together!
Join us for a festive holiday gathering, bike distribution, and a celebration of the incredible people and organizations that make our community stronger.
We’ll also be welcoming local community groups and nonprofit partners to recognize their contributions, celebrate our shared efforts, and say THANK YOU for everything they do throughout the year.

❤️ More than a bike drive. It’s a community coming together.
Whether you donate a bike, volunteer your time, help spread the word, or join us for the celebration, you’re helping put more kids on bikes and making our community a little brighter.

📣 Mark your calendars, start saving those kids bikes, and stay tuned for volunteer opportunities and more event details!

We love new bike day! Congrats, Jennifer!

New bike day at the Chain Reaction Bike Hub‼️

Jennifer found a fantastic Trek 850 converted to a drop bar gravel/all surface bike.

She is looking forward to exploring our world-class gravel and back roads, and also riding social rides with our fantastic local cycling community.

The Trek MTB frames are well known to last forever, and with tough 26" wheels and a 3x drivetrain this bike is perfect for any adventure 🤠

It makes me happy to see these pre-ridden gems going to a rider who truly appreciates them and can't wait to start putting some new miles on an old bike.

And a big shout of thanks to master mechanic Jeff for making sure this bike was freshly tuned and ready to ride🙏

👏Big thanks to our volunteers at the Bever Park Neighborhood Association Bike Parade yesterday. Check out that nifty bike valet! 😍

💚Big thanks to and our awesome volunteer crew for loading up metal recycling this week!

♻ Sometimes a full bike can't be saved, so our volunteers salvage components and teach new volunteers bike anatomy. The remaining parts are then sent to metal recycling and kept out of the landfill.

👏In just 2025, with the help of community partners, our volunteers diverted 12 tons of scrap metal from the landfill. Thank you for being a core part of our sustainability mission!

We've had such a marvelous season of Thursday Night community rides. Big thanks to NewBo City Market for hosting Meet Me at the Market May-August, and thank you to everyone who has pedaled with us!
We had so much fun that we've got at least one more bonus Thursday night ride: Join us tomorrow for a no-drop, all-paces ride. Departing at 6pm from Thomas Park for an out-and-back on Grant Wood Trail towards Springville. Bring your helmet, lights, water, and dress for the weather!

Big thanks to our volunteers who showed up for a rainy Yenko adventure yesterday. We postponed our bike rodeo for weather: stay tuned for where it might pop up next!
