Leadership for Five Seasons (LFS) is a premier community leadership program developing talent through a formal leadership curriculum. It provides participants with vast community knowledge, strong connections, and inspiration to make an impact in their area. LFS is based in Cedar Rapids, and is a program of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.

The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance is thrilled to formally announce the Youth Leadership for Five Seasons (LFS) Class of 2027!

Each year, 35 students from 8 metro-area high schools are selected to step outside the classroom one Wednesday a month during their junior year to explore careers, connect with peers, and hear from local leaders while learning about the history, industries, and challenges of our region.

Leadership for Five Seasons (LFS) is proud to introduce its 44th Adult class — the Class of 2027! 🎓

This year’s cohort brings together 35 leaders from businesses and industries across the Cedar Rapids metro, selected through a competitive process including an application, letters of recommendation, and interviews with LFS alumni. Since the program launched in 1983, more than 1,400 professionals have completed LFS, gaining skills and connections that strengthen both their careers and our community.

The Adult LFS program is a 10-month experience running August through May, with participants spending one Friday each month outside of work in customized leadership training and traveling throughout the city to explore key aspects of our region. Directed by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, LFS empowers emerging leaders to better understand community challenges and opportunities and to play a more active role in shaping our future.

Congratulations to the 2026 Executive Leadership for Five Seasons class! 🎉

Last week the class wrapped up their final program day focused on Quality of Life, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the Paramount, conversations with leaders in arts, culture, recreation, and placemaking, and a memorable dinner on the stage itself.

This program under the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance for new-to-the-area executives (and spouses) takes place every other year. Participants spend 9 months going behind the scenes of industries, organizations, and institutions that help shape Cedar Rapids and get a crash course on local topics like workforce training, health & mental wellness offerings, the entrepreneurial landscape, and more.

Thank you to the many organizations, speakers, and community leaders who helped make this experience possible! Congratulations to this outstanding group of leaders. We can’t wait to see how you and your organizations continue to shape and strengthen our community.
