The CareNetworkCR office is MOVING! 🎉
Beginning June 12th, our team will officially be working from the upper level of Hidden Gems as we continue growing to serve churches, volunteers, and neighbors across our community.
This move means:�🏡 More space for collaboration�🤝 More room for new team members joining the mission�📞 Stronger support for our Care Connection Center�❤️ Greater opportunities to serve our community effectively together

The Care Connection Center and ESL Schools are growing and we’d love for you to be a part of it!

Our Care Connection Center is reaching 20-30 unique callers each month- will you join us in answering the call with compassion, help verify needs, meet needs with resources that include the local church and pray with our neighbors?

CareNetworkCR ESL Schools are helping build bridges of friendship, belonging, language development, and hope for individuals and families from all nations right here in our community.

This past year, over 100 students participated with the support of more than 80 volunteers through partnerships with local churches. From practicing English to sharing meals, stories, and encouragement, lives are being transformed through relationships and community.

We are now recruiting:
📚 ESL Students wanting to grow in English skills and community connection
🙌 Volunteers interested in teaching, hospitality, childcare, conversation groups, prayer support, or classroom assistance
No teaching experience is required for many volunteer opportunities — just a welcoming heart that loves Jesus and speaks English.

CareNetworkCR ESL Schools are helping build bridges of friendship, belonging, language development, and hope for individuals and families from all nations right here in our community.

What a beautiful afternoon of unity, worship, and celebration together at Faith Bible!

To our partner churches, faithful donors, volunteers, and community friends — thank you for gathering with us and continuing to live out the Body of Christ in such tangible ways. Special thanks to Faith Bible for hosting and leading us in worship as we celebrated what God is doing through collaboration and compassionate care in our community.

We were encouraged by updates from Hidden Gems and incredibly grateful for their amazing generosity and partnership, including a $46,000 gift to CareNetworkCR so far in 2026 through their social enterprise efforts. What a powerful example of healthy, sustainable ministry partnerships that create long-term impact for neighbors in need.

We also celebrated our ESL School ministry and heard powerful testimonies of transformation — including Tiffany courageously sharing part of her journey through the Pathways Program.

Stories like these remind us that true poverty alleviation is not simply about relief, but about restoring dignity, relationships, opportunity, and hope. As the Chalmers Center teaches, lasting change happens through reconciliation with God, self, others, and creation.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

Every volunteer hour, every prayer, every partnership, and every financial gift is helping churches walk alongside people toward sustainability, healing, and flourishing.

The Pathways Development Program at CareNetworkCR is about more than meeting immediate needs — it’s about walking alongside individuals toward long-term growth, stability, and hope.

Through mentorship, life skills, workplace development, healthy relationships, spiritual encouragement, and supportive community connections, participants are empowered to move forward with dignity and purpose.

We believe every person has God-given value and potential. Pathways creates space for healing, growth, and sustainable change through relationships, accountability, and encouragement from local churches and volunteers.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31

“I would like to share my family’s journey with Care Network and the Pathway program with you. We moved to the Cedar Rapids area from Arkansas in September 2025 to pursue a better work opportunity for my husband.

My family moved here using only one trip in our SUV loaded down with my husband, myself and our five children. We were unsure how we were going to provide but we trusted God to make a way. I stumbled across CareNetworkCR and was surprised by the outpouring of love and compassion we were shown. We were provided with vouchers for clothing and household goods from Hidden Gems, list of resources, and connected with Sleep and Heavenly Peace and Central Furniture Rescue.

CareNetworkCR checked in and made sure we were ok and that all needs were met. They also provided plenty of prayers.

CareNetworkCR connected me with Zio Johnos for part time work to cover added expenses. Big Shout out to Raymond Miller who welcomed me in and gave me employment.

My family started thriving.

February came with challenges that we never knew to prepare for. My ten-yearold daughter’s legs quit working properly. She was diagnosed with FND. We were faced with navigating her life in a wheelchair as medical bills piled high. We were worried about how we could make ends meet and keep up with her care.

I decided to give CareNetworkCR another call.

Once again, I was greeted with compassion.

I was told a program that they were starting and asked if I would like to try. I didn’t hesitate. I started working in the Pathway Development Program.
I started working at Hidden Gems. The pathway program allows me to give back as I receive help.

I earn money for the hours I work towards my rent so I can then adjust the money we make to cover medical expenses.

I am so grateful for the help that was provided by the Pathway Program.

I love the dignity of working towards the help we need. I highly encourage anyone in need to give Care Network a call.”

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the cost of freedom and the courage of those who chose to serve others above themselves.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we reflect with gratitude, pray for military families, and remember those who never made it home.

In observance of Memorial Day, CareNetworkCR will be closed for the holiday. We will reopen during normal business hours following the holiday.

At CareNetworkCR, we are reminded daily that God is still in the business of bringing life where there was once hopelessness.

Through partner churches, volunteers, ESL schools, Pathways, the Care Connection Center, and Hidden Gems, we witness the power of resurrection at work — restoring dignity, rebuilding relationships, renewing purpose, and walking alongside individuals and families toward sustainability and hope.

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is alive and moving through ordinary people serving faithfully in extraordinary ways.

Thank you to every church partner, donor, volunteer, and advocate who continues to be part of this mission of holistic restoration in our community. Together, we are seeing lives transformed through the love of Christ and healthy, empowering care.
