Boone county Big Give is getting ready to go. We will be looking for donations to help with the extra expenses for the welcome signs. They're up and looking great, but we depleted some of our reserves. Watch for Big Give info on November.

Check out the front of the post office. They found someone who could repair the stucco and painted the front and railings. Looks great and the foundation helped with their facade grant program.

Last year during the Big Give we started the process to raise funds to update the signage at the three main entry points into Cedar Rapids. We are grateful for the donations that were received though we did not meet our goal to complete the project. Funds received thus far have allowed us to be able to have the signs donated by Lindsay Manufacturing to be powder coated, Cement pads and posts have been set. We are in the process of wrapping the posts in a Stone facade and mounting the signs in the next few weeks, this cost is being covered by the Foundation at this time. The next step to complete the signs is to add lighting and some minor easy maintenance landscaping around the bases. Please consider donating to this project and help give the entry points to Cedar Rapids the beautiful Welcome that our little town deserves.

The Cedar Valley Community Foundation will hold their annual meeting on January 12, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cedar Valley Community Center (Senior Center). Everyone is welcome to attend!
2021 was a rather slow year for the Foundation.
-Two scholarships were awarded to Riverside Seniors.
- Funds were used for a facade grant for the Village to use in replacing the front windows of the Senior Center.
- The Foundation was part of the Big Give in collecting the funds for the Village’s Mel’s Landing shower house project.
- A new City Hall sign is in the works to replace the old worn one.
- Possibility of a bench for in front of the Cedar Locker is being researched.
