CRDM, we did it! This year we raised $1,222.56 for the kiddos at the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Every penny raised helps pay for life changing treatments and procedures as well as supporting patients and families during their battle with chronic illness. A big thank you goes out to those who attended our final event of the year last week and our other events throughout the year. We could not have done it without YOU!

A HUGE thank you to Lily, Gemma, and their family for joining us at the event to share their story. YOU are why we do this!

Finally, a huge shoutout to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pickleball teams, as well as everyone who participated! Your participation and support helps change lives.

Join Cedar Rapids Dance Marathon for a pickleball tournament on Wednesday April 8th at 4pm in Eby Gym! This is our biggest event of the year, and all proceeds will go to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. We will have a special CRDM speaker, pizza, and prizes.

1st place team — $75 gift card for each player
2nd place team — $50 gift card for each player
3rd place team — $25 gift card for each player

Grab a teammate and sign up using the registration link below. There is a $10 entry fee per player that can be paid by cash, Cash App, Zelle, or Venmo. Help us continue to raise money for a great cause! 🩵🏓

Cedar Rapids Dance Marathon is STILL looking for new families and kiddos to support in 2026! CRDM is a student led program at Coe College that raises money for kids receiving treatment at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Throughout the school year, CRDM hosts various events to raise money that is donated directly back to the children’s hospital. We finish out the year with our big event, where we welcome the kiddos and families that we support to Coe’s campus to interact with student members. This year’s big event is a trivia night that will take place on Tuesday March 10th!

We are looking for new kiddos and families to welcome into our CRDM community! If you, or someone you know, has a kiddo receiving treatment at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, we would love to connect with you! As a CRDM family, you would be invited to events throughout the year and get to see first hand how our organization gives back to support the hospital. Last week Kohawk Volleyball welcomed Gemma and Lily as the first kid captains of the year! It was so great to have them at Kohawk Arena and hear more about their story.

Join CRDM this Wednesday at 6:00pm in Kohawk Arena to welcome our first Kid Captains of the year: Lily and Gemma!

Lily and Gemma are twins who were born prematurely. Gemma had a pretty standard stay in the NICU lasting 5 weeks with typical development. However, Lily was in the NICU for 10 months. Today, she has some learning delay and mild ID sensory processing disorder. Lily is still seen in specialty clinics at the University of Iowa, but both girls have come a long way! Today, Gemma enjoys gymnastics and volleyball, and Lily enjoys baseball!

Come support your Kohawk Volleyball team as they take on Loras, and learn more about Lily and Gemma’s incredible story! Your support will go directly to CRDM and kiddos like Lily and Gemma who have received and continue to receive care at the University!🏐❤️

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated, showed up, and participated throughout the year, we could not have done this without YOU! Thank you to all of our families who spoke at our big event, and for showing all our participants why it is SO important that we continue to dance and fundraise for the kiddos in need.
