Somewhere far from home this holiday season, a service member is going to open a box from Iowa.

What is inside is up to us.

We are getting close to building our care packages, and we are still short on the things they ask for most:

Hydration drink mixes

Crossword and sudoku puzzle books

Granola and protein bars

Packs of gum

It might look like a granola bar and a pack of gum.

But to someone missing home, it provides a few minutes of feeling like home. It is proof that people back here are thinking about them.

🖤💛 What a great day for 39-2! 🇺🇸🏍️

We had a fantastic turnout for our chapter meeting today! A huge THANK YOU to our brothers and sisters from 39-1, 39-4, and 39-6 for joining us! It's always great getting our family together! ❤️

We also had the pleasure of welcoming our two newest Support Members, Pyro and Tumbleweed! 🎉 Help us give them a big 39-2 welcome! We're excited to have you both as part of the family!

Today was also our chapter election meeting!

🌶️🔥 THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR 3RD ANNUAL CHILI COOKOFF! 🔥🌶️

What an amazing day filled with delicious chili, great company, a little friendly competition, and most importantly, a community coming together to support our local veterans! 🇺🇸❤️

We want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out, entered a chili, donated, volunteered, or simply stopped by to show their support! Events like these wouldn't be possible without all of YOU!

Now, let's give a big round of applause to our chili cookoff winners! 🏆🌶️

Apparently, Snapback can do more than run her mouth… she can make a pretty mean pot of chili, too! 😂🌶️

🇺🇸🏍️ THE FINAL SALUTE IS TOMORROW 🏍️

📍 Meet at Otter Creek BP
3445 County Home Rd, Robins, IA 52328

⏰ Meet: 5:45 AM
🏍️ KSU: 6:00 AM SHARP

From Otter Creek, we will ride together to Locke Funeral Services in Waterloo, where we will join the es**rt for Lester Jewell McMullen Jr.

From there, we will es**rt Lester to Waukee, where he will be honored alongside 15 other unclaimed veterans during funeral services. Following the service, we will continue to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, where these veterans will be laid to rest with the honor and dignity they earned through their service to our country.

16 veterans. 16 names. 16 lives that mattered.

Tomorrow, they will not make their final journey alone.

If you ride, we would be honored to have you beside us. Show up. Ride with us. Stand with us as we give these veterans their Final Salute. 🇺🇸

No veteran should ever be forgotten.
