We've finished packing kits that will be going to MPLS in the next couple of weeks. Now we work on catching up with everything else.
DfGI made a plea for components. They continue to receive very large orders from aid organizations and needs help from all the teams. We've been sewing gold standard components and have already sent one box to the Utah collection center. We sent 310 liners, 140 shields and 88 carry bags.
We have lots of non-sewing tasks, a large stack of bags that need drawstrings before we send them. And we still have flannel to tear. If you sew, we'd love to have you help work on the components.
I've been playing with the colorful PUL making more carry bags!

We'll be packing more kits for Women's Empowerment and we'll be reviewing components that might be sent to the Missouri Collection point.

We will be packing kits for Women's Empowerment. There have been shipping delays throughout Africa this year and they are just receiving the kits that were sent early spring.
If you sew, bring your machine and work on the components you've done before. If you don't sew, we'll be packing kits, so you know you'll be busy too!

In the last 2 months, our team provided 285 kits for Dignity4Girls. They're delivered to Illinois where they'll be picked up this month and prepared for shipping. It will take several months before they get to Liberia. Unfortunately, we don't get pictures of D4G distributions.

We don't have any current requests for kits, but God provides. DfGI has 2 Collection Centers that fill very large international requests. They're always asking for good quality components.

Workshop this Saturday, July 25th, at the Cedar Hills Community Church, 6455 E Ave NW. From 1p to 4p, come and go as needed. We won't be packing any kits this time, our last shipment will be going to Illinois this week. Joe (Dignity4Girls) will be picking up the kits in August, that have been gathering in Illinois and preparing them for shipping to Liberia.
If you sew, bring your machine and we'll teach you how to make the components. If you don't sew, we always have a myriad of tasks in the preparing of kits.

Workshop this Saturday, June 27th, at the Cedar Hills Community Church, 6455 E Ave NW. We work from 1p to 4p, come and go as needed. We're packing more kits for Dignity4Girls and doing all the different activities needed to make the kits.

We received pictures from OCF (Our Children's Future in Liberia). We sent the kits at the end of last year. The first day was at the school, The 2nd day moms and former students also attended the training sessions. They sent a video of the ladies singing a thank you to "Cedar Rapids Days for Girls", but I'm not tech enough to get it copied here.

We'll be packing more kits for Dignity4Girls. We'll also do all the things needed to get the components ready. If you sew, bring a machine. If not, there's always lots to do.
The business we purchased PUL from in Maquoketa still has a lot of colorful PUL and is selling it for $3/yd. If you have any need for any of it, please consider buying some. It's a generous 60" wide. Our team purchased a large quantity last fall. Shipping cost could be prohibitive, but we'd do want we can, to accommodate getting it to you. Only the prints are left.
