We are so excited to announce Cindy Young, EFY’s Administrative Assistant, is a 2026 HER Women of Achievement Honoree. One of Cindy’s nominators calls her the backbone of EFY and she truly is the spirit behind the race. She has played an instrumental role in the creation and continued success of the Especially for You® Race Against Breast Cancer for more than 35 years. What began as her sister Sandy Knight’s vision has become a legacy: one that continues to change lives across the community.
Following Sandy’s passing in 1991, Cindy helped organize the very first EFY Race and has remained deeply involved ever since. After decades of volunteering in every possible capacity, Cindy transitioned from volunteer to employee, choosing to scale her impact even further. As a long-time member of the EFY Steering Committee, she has dedicated countless hours to advancing its mission. Because of her commitment, thousands of individuals have received critical breast and gynecological services they may not have otherwise been able to access.
