đź’§Meet our latest Water Warrior: Ross Evelsizer!
Spending much of his life outdoors, Ross Evelsizer knew from a young age he wanted a career protecting the places he loved. Today, as Natural Resource Projects Director with Northeast Iowa RC&D, he puts that passion to work protecting and improving Northeast Iowa’s waters.
His approach to watershed management starts with the connection between healthy soil, clean water, the food we grow, and human health. Ross works with farmers to adopt practices that strengthen their operations while protecting natural resources. These include multi-cropping systems that improve soil health and water quality, reduce flooding, and create new market opportunities. He also restores habitat and develops networks of water-storage areas that capture and slow runoff. Together, these efforts help farmers and communities care for the land and water they depend on.
We’d also like to extend a special thanks to GreenState Credit Union for sponsoring our Water Warrior initiative and partnering with us to support our mission. Together, we’re making strides toward a sustainable future!
