Closing out our Advisor Introductions is our newest addition to the team, Mr. Marcuse! We’re excited to welcome him to the Vista Ridge FFA family, where he’ll be working across our Animal Science and Ag Mechanics pathways.

Mr. Marcuse teaches Agricultural Structures Design & Fabrication, Advanced Animal Science, Vet Med Applications, and Practicum of Vet Science. He serves as our Chicken Supervisor and as a secondary advisor for Swine, Sheep, and Goats.

He also leads our Radio, Public Relations, and Skills LDEs, along with our Applied Ag Engineering, Dairy Cattle, Horse, and Vet Science CDEs. On top of all that, he’ll be serving as our Agriscience Fair Advisor, giving our members another opportunity to explore agriculture through science and research.

We’re excited to have Mr. Marcuse joining our team and can’t wait to see all the opportunities he brings to our chapter!

Happy first day of school!

Next up in our Advisor Introductions is Ms. Carlile! She works across two pathways — Animal Science and Ag Mechanics — while also teaching our freshman course.

She teaches Principles of AFNR, Livestock & Poultry Production, Equine Science/Small Animal Management, and Agricultural Mechanics & Metal Technology. Outside of the classroom, she serves as our primary Swine Advisor and Barn Manager, helping keep things running both in and out of the show ring!

Ms. Carlile also leads our Ag Issues, Greenhand Quiz, and Creed Speaking LDEs, along with our Ag Communications, Poultry, Wool, and Marketing Plan CDEs. She also serves as our Speaking Development Event Advisor, helping members find their voice and build confidence through competitive speaking.

From the classroom to the barn, the shop, and the competition stage, Ms. Carlile is involved in a little bit of everything! We’re grateful for all she does to help our members learn, compete, and grow.

Meet our 2026-2027 Vista Ridge FFA President, Jackson Phillips!

Jackson loves FFA for the countless opportunities it provides and the value those opportunities bring to his future and the future of those around him. He wants people to know that FFA is about so much more than showing livestock. From welding and floriculture to veterinary science, business, leadership opportunities, and scholarships, there truly is something for everyone!

His advice to FFA members is simple: Never be silent. Speak the truth for what you believe in.

This year, Jackson is looking forward to Vista Ridge FFA meetings, as well as competing in Farm Business Management and Quiz Team.

And when it comes to his favorite animal, you can probably guess it’s a hog!
