Hunter-Morris Memorial Post 911 Charter
American Legion Hunter-Morris Memorial Post 911 was chartered on April 27, 2010 in Cedar Park, Texas to serve the veterans on the western side of Williamson County and the North Shore. Matthew Morris was a 23-year-old Army Specialist from Cedar Park who was killed in action in Iraq in 2008. Vernon Hunter was a former Cedar Park resident and Vietnam Veteran w

ho was working inside the Echelon Building in February 2010 when an airplane crashed into the building killing him. The charter members of the post chose “911” as their post number to evoke memories of September 11, 2001 and to remind people that American patriotism still remains high despite the attacks. American Legion Charter

It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
