TechGirls connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by providing them access and opportunities to advance their skills and pursue their dreams. The core of the program is a 27-day experience in the United States in partnership with Virginia Tech University (tentatively scheduled for July 2022). TechGirls participate in an interactive technology and computer camp, then travel to a different city for job shadowing at a tech company, and homestay and community service experiences. The TechGirls programming yields a multiplier effect as participants return home to educate their peers and create community based projects.

TechGirls connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by providing them access and opportunities to advance their skills and pursue their dreams.

Hey Friends! Update on the books we sent to Pakistan a few months ago! All three boxes have arrived in Islamabad. The first box will go to Chiporsan, Hunza, the second one will go to Broghol and the third one will go to Ishkoman, Ghizer. Thank you to those who donated to the campaign.

Hey Friends! We have dispatched 3 more boxes of books (940 books) today for Pakistan. Thank you so much to all those who contributed to the book drive. Hopefully, the shipment will arrive by October 2021.

Update on the book donation: The shipment has arrived in Islamabad after 3 months. Hopefully, we will send the books to Hunza after Eid Holidays. A big thank you to Kamran Uddin for arranging local transfers.

Yay! Our first shipment of books left Austin today. We are sending them by the sea - it will take almost two months for the books to make it to Karachi. The second stop will be Islamabad. We have picked Shimshal valley as part of the first round of distributing these books. Shimshal is one of the most remote areas in Hunza. It lies at an altitude of 3,100 m above sea level and is the highest settlement in the district. Although it is going to take some time, let’s hope and pray that these books make it to the right people without any interruption.

Sorting books for tomorrow. Thank you so much for the overwhelming response. We hope to continue sending books in the future. For now, we are going to send half of the books. Once we have mote funds we will send the other half!

Thank you so much for the overwhelming response to our Book Drive. We have collected over 600 books and counting. This is beyond what we expected!

Initially, we had set aside some out of pocket funds to put towards the shipment payment. However, with the amazing contributions from you all, the costs are beyond our allocated budget.

We would love any support in helping us sending these books! Any support would be greatly appreciated and would allow us to meet our timeline!

A quick update on our book drive: We have collected close to 200 books, both old and new. We are expecting to get a few more books in the coming days. Hopefully, we will ship them to Pakistan by mid-February. Thank you once again for such tremendous support.
